Every other Pi I use in production uses Centos 7 so of course I go to load it on a microSD and boot.  I&#8217;m then halted with progress by this error:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>start4.elf is not compatible this board requires newer software<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fix is very simple.  Download this archive:<br>*<a href=\"http:\/\/bay.uchicago.edu\/centos-altarch\/7\/isos\/aarch64\/images\/CentOS-Userland-7-aarch64-RaspberryPI-Minimal-4-2009-sda.raw.xz\">http:\/\/bay.uchicago.edu\/centos-altarch\/7\/isos\/aarch64\/images\/CentOS-Userland-7-aarch64-RaspberryPI-Minimal-4-2009-sda.raw.xz<\/a><br>and then extract the raw image file. <br><br>Then run upd-image-fw from:<br>*<a href=\"https:\/\/forums.raspberrypi.com\/viewtopic.php?p=1714655#p1714655\">https:\/\/forums.raspberrypi.com\/viewtopic.php?p=1714655#p1714655<\/a><br>*(direct link to program) <a href=\"https:\/\/forums.raspberrypi.com\/download\/file.php?id=41880&amp;sid=0a370ba73c65275426888fdfcf0b01f0\">https:\/\/forums.raspberrypi.com\/download\/file.php?id=41880&amp;sid=0a370ba73c65275426888fdfcf0b01f0<\/a><br><br>and then simply run:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">sudo .\/upd-image-fw CentOS-Userland-7-aarch64-RaspberryPI-Minimal-4-2009-sda.raw<br><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>I like to use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.balena.io\/etcher\/\">balenaEtcher <\/a>to write the image to SD.<br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I purchased a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B 2019 Quad Core 64 Bit WiFi Bluetooth (4GB).
